Alltel, a US cell phone carrier has annouced 3 new phones that are to be added to their line up.

The first one is the LG Scoop. It is essientially a messaging device made for those text gurus who just cannot stop texting their friends and family. There are preloaded instant messaging programs such as AIM and Yahoo. Also, the full QWERTY keyboard makes the experience so much better.

The second phone is the Blackberry Pearl 8130. It has a 2MP camera and a Shuretype keyboard along with EVDO surfing speeds and expansion through a MicroSD slot.

The last phone is the LG Muse which is marketed as a music centered phone. It has bluetooth stereo for your music and a 2MP camera. There is also XM mobile radio along with GPS capabilities. Not the best looker in my opinion.

Samsung Blackjack owners, you may now take a breath!

Samsung has finally released the Windows Mobile 6 version for your original Blackjacks! The new Blackjack II already comes with Windows Mobile 6 and it would only be appropriate that the oh so popular original gets it too.

Good move and here is the link: http://www.samsungwireless.com/techtrain/tekweb/support/downloads/EULA_popup_sgh_i607_patch.html

There are some instructions to quickly follow aswell.

Motorola still trying…

Motorola has just came off a horrible 2007.

They did not introduce anything revolutionary such as the Razr back in early 2000-2001. Motorola had a horrible quarter 4 with unpleasurable profits.

My idea? Come up with something to challenge the likes of LG, Apple, and Samsung. Try a touch screen, go high end, go out of the ordinary! The thin Razr idea will only get you so far.

AT&T, one of the largest U.S. cell phone carriers has annouced a $99 promotion for the red Blackberry Curve, red Samsung Blackjack II, and the red LG Shine.

The Blackberry Curve is a favorite among Blackberry addicts with its awesome QWERTY keyboard and of course, now there is GPS! The LG Shine is a strong competitor in the style battle with its sleek stainless steel look and 2.2″ LCD screen.

Of course, the Samsung Blackjack II is the new upcoming phone from AT&T that is the successor to the beloved original Blackjack. It features all of the usual luxuries including a 2.0 megapixel camera and built in GPS.

Pick them up for $99 with a 2 year contract. These are great deals especially for the Blackberry and the Samsung. $99 for phones originally $300-$400.

Violet Gleam joins Verizon Wireless lineup

Chris @ 5:14 pm 0 Comments

Verizon Wireless, the United States’ most reliable network, has finally added a purple Samsung Gleam to their lineup.

The original Samsung Gleam was released about two months ago and fresh for 2008 is a purple version. No, it has nothing new except for color but, I think it is light years ahead of the boring tan version.

At full retail it is about $269.99.
With a 1 year contract it is about $219.99
With a 2 year contract it is about $149.99

Still a little pricey in my mind but, never the less, you get some solid features.

A new dimension to (HD) LCD

Jonathan Fren @ 7:07 pm 0 Comments

At only 1cm in thickness, this Samsung 40 inch screen gives a whole different meaning to flat screen. Although it’s not the thinnest I’ve seen, it’s the thinnest I’ve seen released. I’m interested to know the cost..
