Who knew?!?!

Nokia today announced that the Nokia N95 8GB had the luxury of being the first ever cell phone to receive Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) certification. The DLNA is a body advocating the interoperability of wired and wireless consumer devices.

For the consumer, this ability translates into convenient and intuitive connectivity between your DLNA Certified home electronics devices, computers, and of course your very own N95 8GB.

“DLNA technology enables multi-vendor home ecosystems of consumer devices by building a common connectivity platform for a variety of multimedia experiences. This vision is fully in line with the Nokia’s aspiration for openness and seamless interoperability between devices and services from different brands.”

Boy Oh Boy Nokia!

As most already know, Nokia this week cut about 2300-2400 jobs at a German Nokia plant.

Anger and frustration has been all over the event and now, unions want to step up and boycott and protest the decision to cut people out of their jobs at the plant. Even the government has asked Nokia to rethink about closing the plant.

Nokia I think made the wrong decision here. Cutting that many jobs at a plant with good productivity and in the midst of releasing relatively good products? That is just uncalled for.
