Alltel, a US cell phone carrier has annouced 3 new phones that are to be added to their line up.

The first one is the LG Scoop. It is essientially a messaging device made for those text gurus who just cannot stop texting their friends and family. There are preloaded instant messaging programs such as AIM and Yahoo. Also, the full QWERTY keyboard makes the experience so much better.

The second phone is the Blackberry Pearl 8130. It has a 2MP camera and a Shuretype keyboard along with EVDO surfing speeds and expansion through a MicroSD slot.

The last phone is the LG Muse which is marketed as a music centered phone. It has bluetooth stereo for your music and a 2MP camera. There is also XM mobile radio along with GPS capabilities. Not the best looker in my opinion.

Motorola has just came off a horrible 2007.
They did not introduce anything revolutionary such as the Razr back in early 2000-2001. Motorola had a horrible quarter 4 with unpleasurable profits.
My idea? Come up with something to challenge the likes of LG, Apple, and Samsung. Try a touch screen, go high end, go out of the ordinary! The thin Razr idea will only get you so far.

LG has been on a move lately with their moves to SILVER!
Now, LG has annouced the deep silver colored LG Viewty. Of course, the specifications are pretty much the same and the color is the only thing changing.
You will have the 3.0 inch touch screen, the 5 megapixel camera, the slim and sleek design, and of course, great materials used to construct the phone.

LG has annouced a new silver LG Prada with new firmware allowing for a touch screen QWERTY keyboard!
It is a huge annoucement seeing most people want something other than the classy black for their Pradas. The biggest news is the QWERTY keyboard of course.
Before, on the older LG Pradas, people would only be able to type via the T9 Word keys on the screen. It was frustrating for texting and while using the internet.
Now, with the firmware adding the QWERTY keyboard, usability will be so much better. For those with the old black LG Pradas…Wait for someone to rip the firmware for you so you can add it to your black ones.

LG at the on-going Consumer Electronics Show, has put on display an LG Phone Watch! The watch is obviously for show and is a concept but it is indicitive of what is to come.
I see LG has put in a lot more work than Sony and other small Chinese brands for their watches as I see more implementation of messaging along with other necessities to fully use a watch as a phone.
From the pictures, the navigation method is not touch screen but a scroll log ala LG Shine. Pricing was not annouced but I expect it would be a lot cheaper since there is no watch brand associated with the product such as Tag Huer or Prada.
