Palm has decided to close all of its retail stores in order to fully compete in the market of smartphones.
As RIM, maker of the Blackberry devices, have grown using retail stores, Palm decides to leave the retail store market. They have decided to focus on fewer programs and see what they can do more universally.
Wish the best to Palm. I personally believe its their loss. RIM has been very successful but I think it was because their products are very well advertised.

Alltel, a US cell phone carrier has annouced 3 new phones that are to be added to their line up.

The first one is the LG Scoop. It is essientially a messaging device made for those text gurus who just cannot stop texting their friends and family. There are preloaded instant messaging programs such as AIM and Yahoo. Also, the full QWERTY keyboard makes the experience so much better.

The second phone is the Blackberry Pearl 8130. It has a 2MP camera and a Shuretype keyboard along with EVDO surfing speeds and expansion through a MicroSD slot.

The last phone is the LG Muse which is marketed as a music centered phone. It has bluetooth stereo for your music and a 2MP camera. There is also XM mobile radio along with GPS capabilities. Not the best looker in my opinion.

Everything over the past month has become pink! Just in time for the special day in February!
Verizon Wireless has now introduced a pink version of their popular Blackberry Pearl 2! The phone is the improved version over the GSM models released back in November of 2007.
The phone has only changed in color and has the same specifications: 2.0 megapixel camera, Push E-mail, Shuretype keypad, VZNavigator, PIM functions, and so much more!
The pink is definately an exclusive for now just in time for Valentine’s Day shoppers. Expect to pay a fairly low price of $149.99 with a 2 year contract.
If you do not want the Pearl 2 on the Verizon network, it is also available on Sprint or you can go with the Centro for $99 on Sprint.

The Blackberry Curve is a favorite among Blackberry addicts with its awesome QWERTY keyboard and of course, now there is GPS! The LG Shine is a strong competitor in the style battle with its sleek stainless steel look and 2.2″ LCD screen.
Of course, the Samsung Blackjack II is the new upcoming phone from AT&T that is the successor to the beloved original Blackjack. It features all of the usual luxuries including a 2.0 megapixel camera and built in GPS.
Pick them up for $99 with a 2 year contract. These are great deals especially for the Blackberry and the Samsung. $99 for phones originally $300-$400.
