canon rebel xsi

For all you photographers out there, I found this to be pretty kickass. Canon has announced the release of the new EOS Rebel XSi with a 12.2MP resolution. I actually planned on ordering a Canon Rebel XTi kit this upcoming week, but now I’m split on a decision. It seems from the prior success of the Canon Rebel XTi it was inevitable for Canon to release a notch up upgrade.

The Canon Rebel XSI SLR camera offers a lot of cool new features the XTi doesnt, some of these features include improved auto-focus sensor, enchanced 14-bit A/D conversion, an advanced Live View function (badass), 3-inch LCD monitor, and a DIGIC III image processor. The new XSi supports more than 60 compatible Canon EF and EF-S lenses as well.

Canon is expect to start shipping the XSi in early April 2008. There will be 2 available options to choose from, a stand alone body kit and a kit which will include an EF-S18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS zoom lens. The two kits are estimated at around 800$ for the stand alone, and about 900$ for the lens kit which is a really good price in my opinion, include a pretty decent lens for only 100$ extra. So those who are interested in the XSi I’d say splurge for the extra 100$.
